I CAN: PASSION

SOLD (private collection)
Sculpture, 2017
Polymer clay, acrylics, wire, tin can
15 H x 8,5 W x 13 cm

A bright diamond shape growth of mushroom and what could be an anemone. Tactile and enchanting, almost sexual, about the passion that can grow so steadily and strong. Not just for another human being, but also for an occupation, art form or experiences.

Part of the series “I Can”, where I systematically grow erratic and surrealistic natural shapes onto tin cans. The dialogue between each can and growth expresses a different emotion, mood or state of the mind. They are personal and talk about myself, putting into shape what I feel or go through. They are very intuitive work whereI let my hands and the clay decide where to go after a rough sketch of the emotion I want to materialize.
