A whale shark emerges from a vintage camera, seemingly trapped and entangled in a gold-splattered kelp forest. Its open mouth feels like a silent cry for help. I wanted to express the sense of entanglement one can feel in a toxic relationship, something that can be beautiful at times, yet still holds you back. The camera also symbolizes the past, and how we can become trapped by what has already happened, clinging to good memories while suffering in the present.
