Mondes Perdus
Since coming back from my art residency in South Korea, I have been busy working on an art magazine project with 34 other artists. The theme of the mag is “Lost Worlds”. (“Mondes Perdus” in French)
Pre-sales are happening right now, until the 30th of June, since it’s a small production, it’s going to be difficult (near impossible) to grab a copy after that.
However, shipping is limited to Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain.
Here some of the artworks I’ve created for this, the originals are now also available on my website.
I have been (and still am) very inspired by my art residency, so I used reference pictures I took while in Korea for all of my paintings, letting nature grow back, new environments emerge and various beings make them their home.
Below you can see the original pictures I took. For reference, I have been using a second-hand 4/3 camera, Olympus OM-D, E-M5 as a body and a 14-140 mm lens from Lumix. I did a lot of digging to find a good travel sized camera that is lightweight and not too expensive to get this one. Lots of youtube videos about that topic if you’re interested. The second-hand market can be a bit up and down though, so some camera might be cheap now, but very expensive in a year.
I have to say, I have very much enjoyed using that camera while abroad and am looking forward to use many of the pictures for reference in the future.
